January 2017 meeting report

Brighton Actors Networking, Sussex Playwrights and Shooters in the Pub are connecting the city’s writers, actors and theatre/film/audio drama makers together.

January’s Sussex Playwrights meeting hosted a professional actor reading of a 50 minute new play, destined for production and performance in 2018.

‘Alcholized’ – now retitled ‘The Engagement

by James Alexander Allen, story by Wayne Liversidge, is a hard hitting, relevant and deeply affecting tale, ‘based on a true story of a romance-turned-nightmare’, says the playwright.

Members and visitors were invited to come and watch the read performance, discuss the play afterwards with writers and cast.
