March 4th 2018 7.00 – 9.00 pm

It’s approaching that time of year again – the Sussex Playwrights AGM is here.

We’d appreciate it if all past and present paid members could come to the meeting.

You will be very welcome to attend, speak, propose and second, stand and vote in elections, etc.

Come along and have your say!

All the offices are available for election as before:

Vice chair
Committee members

Could you let us know if you would like to stand in the election?

Please could you send any items for the agenda, and any motions you’d like to propose?

Contact: Philippa Hammond chair@sussexplaywrights.co.uk

Non members are welcome too –  although you won’t be able to vote or stand, you can get a feel for what Sussex Playwrights is all about, enjoy a glass of wine and watch and discuss a new script extract reading too – all for just £2.

You would of course be welcome to join on the night!

We would also like to host a short piece or two for reading and discussion for the rest of the meeting after the AGM – do let us know if you would like to present a piece.

Each item will be followed by audience, actor and writer discussion.

Works in progress are absolutely fine – your piece can still be at the script-in-hand reading stage.

Please let us know if you’d like your actors to perform it, or if you’d prefer that we cast readers for your excerpt.

Advance news: Sussex Playwrights April 8th meeting

The April meeting will be a Brighton Festival Fringe preview, where we invite anyone planning a production in the May Festival to present an extract from their show to publicise it.

We hosted an extract from ‘Ross and Doug Present Scenes From The Life And Death Of Lord Haw Haw, Britain’s Most Patriotic Traitor’ just before the Festival last year, which went very well, and we’d like to continue this idea as something of a tradition for the April meeting.

So if you’re preparing a production for the Brighton Fringe and would like to read or perform an excerpt at the April meeting for discussion and review, do contact us as soon as possible to secure a slot.

Your show may be a work in progress, script in hand or polished finished production – any stage is welcome.

Please let us know if you’d like your actors to perform it, or if you’d prefer that we cast actors to read your excerpt for you.

Each item will be followed by audience, actor and writer discussion.

You don’t have to be a member of Sussex Playwrights to showcase your piece for discussion – we welcome visitors and friends.
